Shyness Exercises
Helping You Beat The Shyness Curse

Here we have 12 Shyness Exercises to help you in overcoming the pain that shyness can bring.

Each task should challenge you but shouldn't be so difficult that they exhaust your resolve. By completing a small targeted goal each day you can build up powerful momentum towards making shyness a part of the past and gain happy proactive confidence the future.

Each small challenge should be done at your leisure and every day you can use the next challenge whilst maintaining the previous actions. Don't, complete it and never do it again - Learn it and continue to utilize it.

Use These Solutions To Beat Shyness Once And For All.

Day 1. Eye Contact

This tells people that you are not only interested in what they have to say but that you are honest and have nothing to hide.

Today learn to look people directly in their eyes during conversation and show that you have nothing to hide.

Day 2. Be Interested

This is a conversational tip and it helps keep discussions friendly and bond-building.

When you take interest in what others are saying you develop social rapport with people and warm them to you. Take interest and ask (polite) questions and you'll find people love talking about themselves.

Day 3. Compliment Someone

Now this is something you don't have to preconceive but if you do , try to make it as natural as possible.

Giving small compliments is easy and yet some people never give them because they are too shy. Giving a compliment can raise happiness levels in the recipient and when done subtly can make friendships bloom.

You will soon realize that compliments open doors to friendships and build relationships. Compliment someone today.

Who knows? - Someone might compliment you right back and boost your happiness too.

Day 4. Relax

O.K, today you don't get to sleep in - No, what you have to do today is act relaxed in social situations and this may even involve a little acting or pretending, what ever you like to call it the point is by acting relaxed you can hide the tension you may be feeling and you may even actually relax for real.

By controlling our behavior we control our environment and gain strength from the exercise.

Breathe calmly and act relaxed today in social situations.

Day 5. Whistle In Public

Yes, yes and yes - You are being asked to whistle in public, well we could ask you to sing! Whistling in public says to the people around you "I'm calm, I'm Confident and I'm happy" so it is useful in developing the confidence to have a presence in a public place, not just to blend homogeneously into the masses.

Today you should whistle and project an air of confidence and build your tolerance of public places.

Day 6. Address a group

Today you address a group of people and tackle the embarrassment of public speaking in a minor way.

By group we mean 2-3 people not a auditorium full of onlookers, just small steps here so don't panic.

Today engage conversation with a small group of workmates and attempt to carry the conversation, you will build your speaking skills and develop even more.

Of all the shyness exercises, this is obviously going to be the most difficult for extremely shy people, but the goal is to work up to it, not to jump into the deep end.

Day 7. Join A Club

Sports club, chess club, church group, charity club - It doesn't matter the key is to join a group dynamic and reap the benefit of the social interactions that a small congregation can offer you.

Many people derive much personal happiness from memberships to different organizations.

You don't have to join the army just a small enough group that you feel comfortable with.

Day 8. Learn A Joke

Alright you don't have to be Jim Carrey, here you only have to find a funny joke or story, learn it and tell it to someone you are comfortable with.

You would be surprised how many stand up comics are shy and yet they do the single hardest thing a shy person can do - Tell jokes to an audience.

They get a huge thrill by making people laugh and you might too. Just find a single relative or confidant and tell them the funniest joke you could find.

Maybe the solution might lie in a personal anecdote of something that happened to you that was humorous.

Day 9. Consciously Smile at everybody

Today smile at everybody you see, it doesn't have to be a huge cheesy grin (but it can be), you just have to impart your happiness onto others.

Keep a mental note to smile at others today and watch how many big smiles you will get back, having someone smile at you subconsciously validates your confidence and can give you and teeny weeny boost for the day.

There is no excuse not to, this is the easiest of all the shyness exercises.

Day 10. Be Your Best Self

Today is about you, it is about evaluating all the positive things that make you unique and utilizing your best traits to be your best self.

If you have a talent then today is the day to display it, if your skill is personal then break the mold and let it out. It does not matter what you are good at just make sure today others know about it.

Day 11. Talk To A Complete Stranger

This is one of the single most important of the 12 shyness exercise because it is one that you should use often. By making little niceties we build up a positive social rapport and one of the best things is we meet new people and increase our social network.

If your in a store talk to the person next to you about the weather or the season or the day's news, anything is better than nothing and you will gain so much individual development from this small seemingly trivial exercise.

Day 12. Control Your Voice

The human voice is often one of the biggest giveaways of a persons tone.

If the eye's are the window to the soul then the voice is a portrait of one's mood.

Today make you voice say to others that you are happy, confident and powerful by controlling the way you speak. Talk slowly with a calm and relaxed demeanor taking extra care to emphasize our points, if you are a female then speak with a firm yet compassionate tone, if you are a male speak with a deep and focused tone.

By having a power voice others will be left thinking you are confident and intelligent, whilst you will be feeling stronger and more respected than ever.

Be sure to continue using these shyness exercises every day until they become an instinctive, positive pattern and you will continue to erode the shadow of shyness by building a gradual unstoppable momentum.

Overcoming shyness can be hard but by viewing each challenge as a fun task that will create a better future, you can make huge progressions towards your desired outcome.
